DC Power Plant/Battery Maintenance Programs
![]() |
DC Power-The Life Line of Your Network Microwave Leasing Services provides comprehensive battery system preventive maintenance and replacement programs. These programs provide your Operations with the reliability and capacity to carry the load for the required time designed (N+1). All to often, initial installations and ongoing upgrades fail to produce the required capacity and safety. Incorrect cabling, grounding and poor battery maintenance foster premature battery life and unsafe cabling and conditions. MLS utilizes state of the art test equipment during Maintenance or Load Testing that displays superior performance even in high noise environments, without the need to disconnect the battery from service. Photographic Infrared non-contact Thermometer provides the customer with not only the problematic "hot spots" but also provide a temperature labeled photograph/s of the item/s for repair or replacement. These measurements are critical in the prevention of premature battery failure, failing connections, fire hazards, network outages and producing reports for warranty or additional contractors. MLS adheres to IEEE-1188 and IEEE-450. |

Full documentation, historical data and recommendations necessary to maximize battery life and performance is provided to the customer in a simple to understand electronic format that is easily shared amongst all responsible parties.
MLS uses one of the worlds first integrated non-contact Infrared Thermometers with built in camera. This allows MLS to produce documented data in concert with digital photographs.
Sample of basic battery maintenance data Visual inspection of room layout and safety issues.Take digital images of system(s) to be inspected. Record Battery manufacturer, model, date code, serial numbers and number of strings. Record DC power plant manufacturer, model numbers and serial numbers, including DC/AC inverters and DC/DC converters. Record rectifier/charger, DC/AC inverter and DC/DC converter input and output parameters. Verify redundancy of DC power system, if necessary (N+1). Visual inspection all cabling for proper size and installation. Visual inspection grounding of power system and battery racking. Visual inspection of all individual cells for abnormalities. Check torque of all connections and adjust torque per manufacturer’s specifications, as needed. Measure and record ambient and negative post temperature. Measure and record float voltage and adjust accordingly. Measure and record individual cell voltage, inter-cell resistance and internal resistance (Condustance teating available). Measure and record electrolyte specific gravity and temperature, if necessary. Clean covers and jars of all cells/batteries. Perform any remedial maintenance that will not affect or jeopardize the DC power system that is acceptable to the customer. Measure and record infrared temperatures of DC power system, DC panels and disconnects. **Reports and system maintenance can be customized for any configuration** MLS also offers the option to correct deficiencies during or after the Maintenance Service including: Battery Replacements/Relocation; Initial Installation; System Upgrades; and Properly Documented disposal of spent batteries.
